Hannah Smith is a program manager in the Pathways to Prosperity Network, working to develop and support pathways nationwide. Located in the Oakland, CA, office, Ms. Smith provides support for Learning Communities across three bodies of work and offers management and administrative support for pathways projects across the state. Supporting the development and maintenance of Learning Communities for the CA Endowment, Irvine Linked Learning Hubs of Excellence and CA Career Pathways Trust, Ms. Smith designs and executes small-group virtual discussions, cross-site convening’s and an online platform to assist in regional connectivity and shared learning. In addition, Ms. Smith is a site coach for one of the Regional Hubs of Excellence grantees, offering just in time assistance, site visits and call to support strategic design and implementation of sustainable, high functioning Hubs of Excellence to expand and scale high quality Linked Learning pathways and programs.
Prior to joining Jobs for the Future, Ms. Smith worked for Helix Learning Partners conducting program evaluation and research. She also has experience as a counselor in both Boston and Oakland public schools, supporting college and career readiness and offering general student support services for at risk youth. She has a strong interest in working at the nexus of research, policy and practice, and using this triangulation to endorse equity and access for low income students. Ms. Smith holds an Associate's degree in Social and Behavioral Science from City College of San Francisco, a Bachelor's degree in Ethnic Studies and Education from UC Berkeley, and a Master's degree in Prevention Science and Practice from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. |
