Isabel’s personal experience as a student in Los Angeles schools is the foundation upon which she has developed her own pedagogical practice to support the holistic development of people by beginning with a deep understanding of one’s self and one’s place in the world. Isabel firmly believes that by creating the space and exposure opportunities for young people to dream, be curious and explore we can host a holistic approach to education and youth development that transforms schooling to transformative learning. During her time at YouthBuild Charter, Isabel has served as a lead teacher, as an interdisciplinary instructional coach, and now she serves the school as the director of the S.E.S. Department. Isabel’s is committed to providing students and staff with enriching experiences in the process of learning as a community so we may all transform the reality we see - into the future we dream about. |
