Joanna Zorn Heilbrunn, or Jodi as she likes to be called, has worked in the field of school research and evaluation for over twenty years. She was part of the team that launched the National Center for School Engagement in 2004, and currently serves as its director. Jodi combines a background in program evaluation based on skills acquired from years at the RAND Corporation, with lots of experience translating research into policy recommendations and practice for busy school and school district personnel. She has published extensively on truancy prevention and promoting school engagement. Jodi holds a Master's degree in Sociology from UCLA and a BA in economics from Boston University.
