Mary Ann Dewan, Ph.D., has over 27 years of experience in PK-12 education. She is the Deputy Superintendent at Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) and is a resident of San Jose, CA. Dr. Dewan is recognized for her expertise and experience in early learning, special education, education reform, and change leadership.
She previously held the position of Chief Schools Officer for the Student Services Branch overseeing all student serving educational programs of the SCCOE. Over the course of her career, she has served in the positions of Executive Director, Assistant Superintendent, Director of Special Education, principal and teacher. As a Senior Consultant for Cross & Joftus, Dr. Dewan supported education reform, improvement and change initiative projects in several states. Dr. Dewan has been a professor at Marian University, Butler University, and Indiana University having taught courses in teacher preparation and educational leadership. Dr. Dewan earned her doctorate in educational administration from Indiana State University. She received a master’s degree in educational administration and elementary education from Butler University, and a bachelors’ degree in elementary education, with a minor in special education, from Marian University. |
