Valerie Chase holds a Masters in Education and Administration from the University of La Verne and represents over 25 years of K-12 public education experience. She began as a bilingual teacher for LAUSD and held teaching and Title I Coordinator positions at the Newhall School District. She made the jump to charter schools in 2001 when she accepted a position with K12, Inc. During 7 years with K12, Inc., she served in the assessment division of online curriculum development and moved into the virtual school implementation team and participated in research and evaluation to study the efficacy of online learning.
Valerie (Mrs. Chase) has spent the last 8 years at Learn4Life Concept Charter Schools in helping to design and build educational programs such as homestudy, SES, online learning, sports, and CTE. She believes strongly in the value of community-school partnerships as a construct for delivering educational programs to 21st century students. Valerie has steered the inception of the ‘community liaison’ position and the growth of a team committed to identifying and leveraging the respective resources of our community partners with focus on student academic achievement and social success. Valerie was recently selected to participate in the CDE’s 2015-16 Leadership Development Institute for CTE Leaders.
